Walt Willey's daytime career began in 1983 as a day player on The Edge of Night. Willey also appeared on Another World and Ryan's Hope before joining All My Children in 1987 as Jackson Montgomery. Willey portrayed Jackson until AMC was cancelled in 2011. Willey reprised his role of Jackson on General Hospital in July 2023.

Willey has been married to Marie since 07/1994. They share two children, Chance Conner and Merit (b. 11/25/1998). Willey was previously married to Kerrie Clark (1987-1989).
