Peter Reckell first daytime appearance was in 1980 when he joined As the World Turns as Eric Hollister. In 1983, Reckell was cast as Bo Brady and became apart of one of the most successful super couple pairings on soaps. In 1987, Reckell left the show and soon landed a role on the primetime soap Knots Landing. Reckell returns to DAYS in 1990 and stayed until 1992. Reckell returned full time in 1995. After failing to come to terms on a new contract, Reckell depated the show in October 2012. Reckell returned to DAYS from August 2015 to December 2015 and again in June 2016.

Reckell has been married to Kelly Moneymaker since 04/18/1998. They share one child together, Loden (b. 2007). Reckell was previously married to Dale Kristien (12/1987-1991).
