Josh Griffith began his daytime career in 1988 at Santa Barbara as a breakdown and script writer. Griffith joined the writing staff of One Life to Live in 1991 before taking over the head writing duties in 1992. In 1997, Griffith helped create Sunset Beach with Robert Guza Jr.. Griffin returned to OLTL briefly in 2003 as head writer. Griffith joined the writing staff at As the World Turns in 2005. In 2006, Griffith began working on The Young and the Restless as a creative consultant and writer before being made an executive producer. During that same time Griffith served as Y&R's executive producer. Griffith left Y&R in 2008 and the following year briefly served on General Hospital's writing staff. Griffith was Y&R's head writer again from October 2012 to November 2013. From August 2015 to September 2016, Griffith was co-head writer of Days of our Lives
