Jon Hensley's daytime career began in 1985 when he appeared on One Life to Live as Brody Price. Jon Hensley then joined As the World Turns as Holden Snyder in 1985 and played the role until 1996 (though he left briefly in 1989) when he actually departed and left the show. In 1996, Jon Hensley then returned to ATWT and played Holden Synder until the series cancellation in 2010. From 2011 to 2012 Jon Hensley appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in a recurring role.

Hensley was married to Kelley Menighan Hensley from 05/25/1996 until 2013. They have three children: Sophie May (b. 12/23/1998), Spencer James (b. 01/31/2002) and Georgia Grace (b. 06/28/1999).
