Hillary B. Smith's daytime career began with an appearance on The Doctors in 1983. In 1983 again, Smith joined As the World Turns as Margo Montgomery Hughes, a role she took over from Margaret Colin and was played until 1990 when Hillary left the show and was replaced by another actress in the middle of the decade. Smith returned to daytime in late 1991 as Nora Hanen Gannon Buchanan on One Life to Live and played the role until the series went off the air in 2012. Smith appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful as a recurring guest star from April to May 2012. Smith reprised her role of Nora when OLTL returned online in April 2013. Smith reprised her role of Nora on General Hospital in March 2017.
