Gary Tomlin began his career as an actor on Search for Tomorrow in 1973. In 1979, Tomlin appeared on Another World as Morgan Simpson. Tomlin began working behind the scenes in the early 1980's on the short lived series Texas before taking over head writing duties at Days of our Lives. Tomlin went on to write for Search for Tomorrow, Another World, Santa Barbara and One Life to Live. Tomlin has also served as a producer and director on several daytime serials. Tomlin was co-head writer on Days of our Lives with Christopher Whitesell from August 2012 to August 2015. Tomlin has been on the directing team at General Hospital since November 2016.
