Anthony Herrera's daytime career began in 1974 as Mark Galloway on As the World Turns. From 1975-1977, Herrera appeared on The Young and the Restless as Jack Curtis. In 1980, Herrera returned to ATWT but began playing his most memorable role and one of daytime's best villains, James Steneck. Herrera portrayed the role on and off until 2010. Herrera also appeared on Loving as Dane Hammond. Herrera died on June 21, 2011 after a long battle with cancer.

Herrera was married to Basha from 1985 to 1990. Herrera had one child, a daughter actress Gabrielle Hoffman (b. 01/08/1982) with Viva.
